FAQ
Beesou is a naturally bitter honey aperitif made with a base of fermented honey wine and infused with botanicals. It’s 11% ABV, so lighter than most spirits and completely natural in colour and flavour. Think of it as sunshine in a glass, made by bees.
Beesou is all about delicate balance, the smooth sweetness of honey with a refreshing bitter twist. You’ll get notes of citrus, bitterness and botanicals that make it both bright and complex. It’s deliciously moreish, whether you sip it neat or mix it into a cocktail.
You can enjoy Beesou in lots of ways. The easiest? Beesou & Tonic over ice with a slice of grapefruit. For something spritzier, top it with sparkling wine. Or swap it into your favourite aperitif cocktails, like a Negroni or Margarita for a natural twist.
Beesou was inspired by the French word bisou, meaning “kiss,” because we loved the idea of a name that feels joyful, affectionate and warm, like sharing a drink with friends. By adding the “Bee,” we brought in the heart of our inspiration: our love for bees, those small, tireless artists of the natural world who turn wildflowers into golden honey. Their quiet magic, harmony with nature and generous gift to us all lie at the soul of Beesou. The name is a union of love and nature, a bisou to the bees themselves, and Beesou is, quite simply, a toast to life’s tender moments, to friendship, love and the beauty of nature’s alchemy: a kiss from the bees.
We work with ethical beekeepers in the Cotswolds and across the UK. They only take honey in summer, leaving plenty for the bees to survive the winter. It’s all about keeping nature in balance.
Yes, it’s at the heart of what we do. Our packaging is fully recyclable and biodegradable, and our cardboard is FSC certified. Plus, 10% of our profits go to Bees for Development, a charity that helps people and bees thrive together through sustainable beekeeping. Our bottle is plastic free and we are proud to be a certified B Corp.
Beesou contains ethically sourced honey, so it’s not vegan, but it is vegetarian and completely natural. We’re proud to be open about every ingredient, no artificial flavours, colours, or preservatives.
Unlike most aperitifs, Beesou has no artificial colouring or flavouring and is naturally low in alcohol. Its golden hue comes from safflower extract, not dyes or E Numbers. It’s a more mindful way to enjoy an aperitif, elegant, natural, and genuinely good.
Without bees, we lose much of the world’s biodiversity and many of the foods we love. Beesou was created to celebrate and protect them. Every bottle supports Bees for Development, helping communities around the world build sustainable livelihoods through beekeeping. Beesou is a proud to be a brand with a purpose.
You can order Beesou right here on our website, or find it in selected bars, restaurants, and stores across the UK. It’s also available on Amazon if you prefer next-day delivery.
